Morgan Elementary School serves 340 students in grades PK through 5th grade. The school is located in the Eastern part of Rowan County and borders Stanley County. It is predominately a rural area located approximately six miles from Rockwell. Students leaving the fifth grade at Morgan Elementary School feed into Erwin Middle School and East Rowan High School. The school has been a focal point of the community since the 1800’s. Its historical setting provides many opportunities to study the rich history and heritage of early North Carolina. The students and staff benefit room strong community support as evidenced by an active PTA and classroom volunteers. School programs are very well attended by parents and supportive community members.

Our student population consist of 98% white, 1% black, .5% Asian and .5% Hispanic. 46% of students participate in the free and reduced lunch program. The school has previously been recognized as a “School of Excellence” and has met all AYP requirements according to the state and federal education requirements. The school also is accredited by the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges.
