Welcome Back RC Early College Students!
Rowan County Early College (RCEC) students kicked off their first day of the new school year on Friday, August 4th, by gathering in the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College’s Teaching Auditorium. The session was led by RCEC Principal Patrick Hosey to an excited group of returning students and new students. Teachers returned earlier in the week in preparation for the student arrivals on the 4th.
Also earlier in the week, a number of upper-grade students worked alongside teachers as mentors to the new incoming freshmen class members. The student mentors guided new students on tours around the campus, led them through ice-breaking games, answered their questions about what to expect in the upcoming year, which was all aimed at making the new students feel welcome and excited about the RCEC family and the new school year.
The Rowan County Early College is housed on the campus of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and works in partnership with RCCC where students participate in both high school and college courses. RCEC provides a rigorous college-preparatory program to students with most graduating with both a high school diploma and a two-year college degree.
