Planetarium Information

Following its debut in 1967, the Margaret C. Woodson Planetarium has been a venue of intrigue for the Salisbury community. Our 30-foot dome ceiling, theater seating for 72, and original star projector continue to amaze audiences of all ages and backgrounds. A simulated night sky stretches out in every direction overhead as the planetarium provides an immersive learning environment for star-gazers and those inspired by the mysteries of our universe. We have recently added a homemade mirror-dome like system that allows us to present multiple formats and amaze audiences in a whole new immersive environment!

Updates throughout the year will be made to this website and programming is subject to change. Doors open 30 minutes prior to each show. Programs typically last 60 minutes and are suitable for general audiences, unless otherwise noted. Playlists and programs may be altered for suitability and length at the discretion of the planetarium director.
