The following pieces of information are very important. I want this school year to run smoothly. Please read the procedure pages often so you and your child will be on track for our day to day schedule.
Our Genre focus through September will be Realisitic Fiction.
YOUR CHILD WILL HAVE VERY LITTLE HOMEWORK THIS YEAR. BUT WITH THE NEED TO ALWAYS PRACTICE THE TIMES TABLES AND STUDY FOR SOCIAL STUDIES/SCIENCE TEST YOUR CHILD MUST TAKE AND MAKE THE TIME TO DO THE ADDITIONAL WORK. HOMEWORK REFLECTS ON THE FINAL GRADE IN EACH CURRICULUM AREA.
Your child's homework will for the most part be consistent from week to week. Spelling will address High Frequency Words and Vocabulary words from all subject areas.
Monday-Reading, Spelling and Math...Tuesday-Reading, Spelling and Math... Wednesday-Reading, Spelling and Math... Thursday-Reading, Spelling and Math
Math may be a worksheet or page from a workbook. If the workbook comes home, do not write in the workbook. All math homework will reinforce concepts already taught. Your child should drill multiplication and division facts every day. Also, your child should be reading EVERY DAY!!!!!
Student Behavior—- If your child earned a letter, it must be initialed by the parent each day. The bottom box in the Agenda must be signed to verify that your child has read for 30 minutes. The letters earned on the behavior report may keep them from attending PBIS activities. A list of the behavior letters will be kept in the front pocket of the Agenda for daily reference.
Please feel free to contact me via phone, email or letter. I will enjoy working with each and every one of you for the success of your child.
