Farah Conklin
ESOL Teacher
Hello! My name is Mrs. Conklin. I am the ESOL teacher at Hanford Dole. I love what I do and can relate to the students. Like my students, English isn't my first language, Italian is my first language. I attended school in Montreal and learned French and English. I was in Iran for a total of four months and learned Farsi. I graduated from UNC Charlotte with a Bachelor's Degree in French and Elementary Education.
WHAT IS ESOL?
ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) is a service provided in public schools for students who aren't proficient in English. My schedule allows me to pull out and serve students in their classrooms. I pull out students on Mondays-Wednesdays for thirty minutes. I work with students and teach them the language of Social and Academic English.
