ESOL Teacher

mollahassanif@rss.k12.nc.us

Hello! My name is Mrs. Conklin. I am the ESOL teacher at Hanford Dole. I love what I do and can relate to the students. Like my students, English isn't my first language, Italian is my first language. I attended school in Montreal and learned French and English. I was in Iran for a total of four months and learned Farsi.  I graduated from UNC Charlotte with a Bachelor's Degree in French and Elementary Education.

WHAT IS ESOL?

ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) is a service provided in public schools for students who aren't proficient in English. My schedule allows me to pull out and serve students in their classrooms. I pull out students on Mondays-Wednesdays for thirty minutes. I work with students and teach them the language of Social and Academic English.

My Schedule

8:00-8:30 Fifth grade inclusion
8:35-9:15 Second grade inclusion
9:30-10:00 Third grade pullout
10:05-10:35 Third grade inclusion
10:50-11:20 First grade pullout
11:25-12:40 Lunch/Planning
12:45-1:15 Second grade pullout
1:15-1:45 Fourth grade inclusion
1:50-2:15 Kindergarten pullout
