Welcome to my webpage. I have been teaching gifted children since I graduated from Mars Hill College in 1985, where I earned a BA in English and a minor in Gifted Education. I love the way gifted children think :) At Hanford Dole I wear many hats: teacher, Site Support Leader (helping new teachers), Science Fair Coordinator, School Improvement Team Representative and of course, Afternoon Car Rider Traffic Director. I also have my Master's Degree from UNC-Greensboro in Administration and Curriculum Supervision. This is my 5th year at Hanford Dole. Please check back frequently for updates about upcoming events. I love technology and try to communicate this way if at all possible. I have two other pages linked to this page: 1) the AIG Project Page and 2) The AIG Help Page. Both these pages have helpful links and documents to keep you informed and to help your student at home.
Remind 101: This is a brand new way to get connected to everything we do in AIG.
Here's how to join. From your cell phone text the following numbers. I will send a confirmation text to you and then you will be added to my contact list. When there is an update that I want to send, I can easily send one text to everyone. Please do not reply to the texts because they will not come back to me. Simply text to all the classes you would like to join and you'll be in the AIG loop :)

Dear Parents,
It's that time of year; reviewing, testing and Spring Fever!! I'm sure your children are excited and anxious about all these things. To help them feel a bit more calm, we are working hard to make sure they are prepared and engaged every minute of the day. To help YOU feel more calm and prepared, here are a couple of links that show you what they will be expected to do in the coming weeks. Hang in there. We're almost to June!
