Please read the information below prior to accessing the Staff Development Renewal Credit Listing.
The Staff Development Renewal Credits Listing may be accessed using a Windows computer or a Macintosh computer that is connected to the Internet.
Please Note: If you are using a Macintosh computer to access the listing, you will need to use one of the following browsers: Safari, Netscape, or Mozilla. Internet Explorer will not work on the Macintosh. Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Firefox will work on a Windows computer.
To access the Staff Development Renewal Credit Listing, go the main Rowan-Salisbury School System homepage, www.rss.k12.nc.us.
On the left side of the homepage, under Navigation, click on Staff.
Click on Staff Development.
Then click on Check renewal credits.
At this point, if you are using a Windows computer, with Internet Explorer, the window below will appear.
Click Yes.
If you are using a Macintosh computer, with Safari, the window below will appear.
Click Continue.
If you are using a Macintosh computer, with Netscape or Mozilla, the window below may appear.
Click on Accept this certificate permanently.
You will then see the following window.
You can uncheck the box before Alert me whenever I am about to view an encrypted page.
Then OK.
When you leave the listing web page and you have been using a Macintosh computer with Netscape or Mozilla, you may see the window below appear.
You can uncheck Alert me whenever I leave an encrypted page for one that isn’t encrypted.
Then click OK.
The way you view your renewal credits has changed, there are 3 ways to view the credits.
1) Current Renewal Cycle - For licensed teachers that have a date showing their current renewal cycle. This will show the credits you have for the current renewal cycle period. **Note. If you do not have a current renewal date you may use option 3 to see your credits.
2) Prior Renewal Cycle - For licensed teachers that have a prior renewal cycle. The state has already reset the renewal cycle for the teachers that renew June 30, 2005. Their current cycle is now reading 7-1-2005 ending 6-30-2010, so therefore they would not have any credits showing in their current cycle. There is a prior renewal for you to look at your credits for the last 5 years. If you do not renew this June you may not have a prior renewal cycle. You would look at the current renewal cycle.
3) All Credits - This is for all active employees (Classified or Licensed) to pull all their renewal credits (life-to-date).
When the Renewal Credits Listing page opens, you will need to enter your Social Security Number, without the dashes, in the designated field.
Select the desired Renewal Period and then click Display Renewal Credits. The results will be displayed. You may need to scroll down the page to see all of the results.
