Vokis for Proofreading (see entry)

Students used the website www.voki.com.  They created a voki and keyed in vocabulary words and definitions and other writing assignments.  Then, played it back.

Learning the Dewey Decimal System (see entry)

Instructed students in the Dewey Decimal system, then used an online game to assess learning.

Xtranormal Video (see entry)

Students use http://www.xtranormal.com/ to create videos that explain how to name compounds.

Great website to encourage students to practice their spelling words and encourage literacy.

Reflections with Edu 2.0 Discussion Boards (see entry)

Students can reflect on any activity or lesson using Edu 2.0 (an online classroom management system).

NOAA Oceanography Videos (see entry)

This page has a variety of videos covering a number of ocean topics. The videos do a great job introducing key vocabulary.  There are connecting activities included as well.

Edmodo (Online tool) (see entry)

Edmodo is a kid friendly website that mimics Facebook. Teachers can post literature questions or assignments  for students to respond that can be based on literature read in class.

Literary Graffiti (see entry)

Students use graffiti to help them visualize what they are reading.

Into the Book (see entry)

This is a website where students can work on reading comprehension strategies such as visualizing, monitoring, predicting, connections, questioning, and summarizing.

Class Management Using Class Dojo (see entry)

Class Dojo is a fun and easy way to manage behavior/work habits for students. This web-based management tool awards and deducts points to students by showing the accumulated points on a colorful "monster-like" icon for each student.
