Academically and Intellectually
   Gifted Program
The purpose of the Rowan-Salisbury School System’s Academically and/or Intellectually Gifted Education Program is to provide differentiated educational services for academically and/or intellectually gifted students that comply with Article 9b.
 
 
Article 9b of the North Carolina state statutes defines academically and intellectually gifted students as those who:
 
  1. ✓perform or show the potential to perform at substantially high levels of
   accomplishment when compared with others of their age, experience, or environment;
  1. ✓exhibit high performance capability in intellectual areas, specific academic
   fields, or in both intellectual areas and specific academic fields and              
  1. ✓require differentiated education services beyond those ordinarily provided by
   the regular education program.
