Academically and Intellectually
   Gifted Program
The purpose of the Rowan-Salisbury School System’s Academically and/or Intellectually Gifted Education Program is to provide differentiated educational services for academically and/or intellectually gifted students that comply with Article 9b.
 
 
Article 9b of the North Carolina state statutes defines academically and intellectually gifted students as those who:
 
  1. perform or show the potential to perform at substantially high levels of
   accomplishment when compared with others of their age, experience, or environment;
  1. exhibit high performance capability in intellectual areas, specific academic
   fields, or in both intellectual areas and specific academic fields and              
  1. require differentiated education services beyond those ordinarily provided by
   the regular education program.
