Welcome to the web site for the Public Information Officer for the Rowan-Salisbury School System. It is such a privilege to work in the capacity of public relations for our school district. There are many wonderful initiatives in the works to promote success for our students, parents, and staff. Our Board of Education “got the ball rolling” by adopting vision, mission, and belief statements, which created the foundation for our District Improvement Plan and School Improvement Plans.
We care very much about increasing communications with our students, parents, staff, and community. RSSS Superintendent Dr. Judy Grissom has launched a monthly newsletter that goes to every RSSS staff member, and Connect-ED communication service that enables administrators to quickly reach all our school families informing them of anything from school activities to school closings due to bad weather conditions. We have updated our district website for easier accessibility and Dr. Grissom is publishing articles for the local newspaper that address such topics as parental involvement, understanding AYP/NCLB, understanding school budget, understanding inclement weather/school closings, among other topics.
