TWELVE POWERFUL WORDS
Larry Bell, internationally known speaker and educator, has been meeting with teachers, students, and administrators across the district to share strategies for increasing student engagement and achievement. One of the main strategies he teaches is for students to learn the “twelve powerful words” that often trip up students in their reading and on standardized tests. Not only are students learning the meaning of the words and how to use them, they are also singing “twelve words” songs to help remember the words and make the learning FUN!
1. TRACE means to outline or list in steps
2. ANALYZE means to tear down or take apart
3. INFER means to read between the lines
