The North Carolina Graduation Project is a multi-faceted, multi-disciplinary performance assessment, which provides each student the opportunity to connect content knowledge, acquired skill, and work habits to real world situations and issues.

During June 2009, the NC General Assembly signed law HB223 which states, “The State Board of Education shall not require any student to prepare a high school graduation project as a condition of graduation from high school prior to July 1, 2011; local boards of education may, however, require their students to complete a high school graduation project.” The RSS Board of Education will continue to require a graduation project as a local exit standard.

The Graduation Project process provides opportunities for family and community members to support our students as they move through this graduation requirement.
