The computer lab is a place where students realize the potential of technology to enhance their learning. Come up and visit when you are in our building!

The computer lab at Overton Elementary School contains 30 iMac computers. It is a busy room where students are learning to work in the Mac environment. The students are learning new vocabulary as they become familiar with the components of this operating system.

Throughout the year, students are given the opportunity to use software that reinforces the content of the classroom curriculum. Classes work to create spreadsheets, graphs, graphic organizers, mini-books and documents. Digital photography has also become popular in our school.

Additionally, the younger students are working to strengthen their mouse skills while the third, fourth and fifth grade students work to strengthen their keyboarding skills. We are also fortunate to have a new projection system and interactive white board. This system enables teachers to enrich technology lessons.
