Snow Make up Plan: All of the following days are subject to being used for snow or inclement weather make-up. The following days on which school is not scheduled for students are NOT GUARANTEED as student holidays. Saturdays in the week event occurs; November 4, November 26, January 2, January 23, February 16, April 6-9. Please take this fact into consideration when planning vacations,travel or making reservations, etc. These may be school days!
The order of use of Saturdays and designated make-up days will be determined based on the number of days missed and when days are missed and will be announced as soon as possible after an inclement weather event has ended.  State law requires that all days missed due to inclement weather must be made up prior to June 10, 2008 unless the RSS Board of Education requests a waiver and is granted a waiver by the State Board of Education.
Workdays: Required system staff development days (2 days) are August 19-20. In addition the following workdays are required workdays: August 18; October 27; January 22; March 30 and June 11. Ten-month employees who have accumulated annual leave days in excess of the 10 required annual leave days built into the calendar may take annual leave on workdays not designated as required workdays by the Board. Other ten-month employees (except Bus Drivers, Food Service employees, and certain EC assistants who work only on days that students are in school) must work on all workdays included in the calendar.

If one more day of school is missed on or before April 3, the makeup schedule will be revised as follows:
The day missed will be made up on Tuesday – April 7
The optional protected workday will move from Tuesday – April 7 to Wednesday – April 8

If two more days of school are missed on or before April 3, the makeup schedule will be revised as follows:
1st day missed will be made up on Tuesday – April 7
2nd day missed will be made up on Wednesday – April 8
The optional protected workday will move from Tuesday – April 7 to Thursday – April 9

Should three more days of school be missed on or before April 3, the Superintendent will consult with the Board of Education and a makeup decision will be made.

Best scenario for Spring Break, students will be out of school four days: April 7-10
Minimum scenario for Spring Break, students will be out of school two days: April 9-10
Good Friday (April 10) and Memorial Day (May 25) remain as holidays for students and staff.
